Founder and advisor focused on defense software and procurement strategy. I build to help law enforcement and defense forces come home safe to their families, and I help other founders navigate the complexity of operating at the intersection of technology, compliance, and acquisition.
Software for military and law enforcement teams operating in high-risk environments
I founded Blackpoint to build Rooker, software designed to help point out potentially dangerous situations that law enforcement and military forces could find themselves in. The core product is R107 (formerly P19), which sits at the intersection of real-time threat detection and operational readiness.
Defense and dual-use startups
I advise early-stage founders on acquisition strategy and compliance, evaluate companies through the Stetson Hatter Angel Network, and serve as a board observer for Verdigo Aero.
The real moat in defense software isn't the feature set. It's understanding that compliance, contracting, and transition risk aren't obstacles to acquisition; they are the acquisition. Most founders approach this backwards, building the product first and threading it through the compliance maze afterward. I built Blackpoint through the maze from day one.
Deep expertise in:
Analysis of building defense software aligned with operator constraints
An examination of how compliance and procurement requirements, when understood as design surfaces rather than obstacles, enable faster iteration and better product-market fit in defense contexts. This work contributed to broader conversations on defense acquisition reform.
Analysis of SBIR reform and defense procurement pathways
An analysis of how small business acquisition programs can be redesigned to reduce friction for founders and accelerate innovation. This writing informed policy conversations around reauthorization and broader procurement modernization.
